Newfoundland digestive enzymes contain numerous specific enzymes to support the digestive system, accompanied by plant extracts that enhance their effects.

Some of its properties are:

• Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare): Used as a digestive tonic
• Green barley: Green barley grass is an abundant source of chlorophyll, for this reason we frequently use it as a “freshener” for the digestive tract due to its influence on maintaining the healthy balance of intestinal bacteria.
• Rice: Especially important for the function performed by beneficial bacteria is the fructooligosaccharide (FOS) content in stabilized rice bran. FOS are a type of non-digestible carbohydrate that acts as a prebiotic (that is, a substance that improves the viability and/or activity of digestive bacteria).
• Ginger: Ginger promotes healthy digestive activity in the stomach, and also has a calming effect on the intestinal tract.
• Cardamom (Elettaria cardamomum): Wrapped in the pods of cardamom are very spicy and aromatic tiny seeds that have been used since ancient times as a digestive tonic and carminative. Like artichoke, cardamom contains certain compounds that are considered beneficial for gallbladder health.
• Gentian (Gentiana lutea): The strongly bitter compounds of gentian root are associated with its common use as a general digestive and stomach tonic.
